Contractor Fire Protection (CFP) was retained to provide a complete, NFPA-compliant fire sprinkler system for the mixed-use residential and commercial complex located at 7210 E. Mayo Blvd in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The project scope included the design and installation of a code-compliant sprinkler system meeting NFPA 13, 14, and 20 requirements. CFP’s work encompassed full BIM design coordination, a complete submittal package, permitting, material procurement, installation, testing, and final inspection with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). As part of project close-out, CFP also provided owner training and an as-built drawing set.
The system incorporated CPVC piping throughout the residential levels, with steel piping in the parking garage and Level 1, and extended coverage heads where applicable. A freestanding Fire Department Connection (FDC) was also installed to enhance emergency access. Quality control included CPVC compatibility inspections and documentation on each floor from Levels 2–8.
CFP’s work addressed both technical and logistical challenges, such as maintaining compliance during the continuation of work from Building 2, integrating SprinkGuard protection, and coordinating penetrations and fire caulking as needed. The project team’s daily cleanup, floor-by-floor QC process, and commitment to NFPA standards resulted in a safe, reliable, and efficient fire protection system to serve the building for years to come.
