Van Buren & 5th Avenue – Phoenix, Arizona

CFP was retained to design and install a complete NFPA 13-compliant fire sprinkler and fire alarm system for the new development at Van Buren Street and 5th Avenue in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.

The sprinkler system scope included full design, submittal package, permitting, material procurement, installation, testing, and final inspection with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). CFP also provided owner training and a complete as-built drawing set. The system design accounted for adequate water supply and was sequenced to align with the project’s construction workflow. A 40 psi @ 250 gpm fire pump was included, along with attic sprinklers on the 7th floor/roof level and fire caulking throughout. The system was initiated at a 6″ flange approximately AFF.

In addition to fire protection, CFP delivered a code-compliant, addressable horn strobe fire alarm system. This included a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), manual pull stations, smoke detectors, duct detectors (provided to the mechanical contractor), notification and initiating devices, and a cell dialer with the first year of monitoring included. Scope of work also covered free-air installation, device trim, programming, testing, final AHJ inspection, owner training, and as-builts.

CFP’s integration of both fire sprinkler and alarm systems delivered a coordinated, reliable, and code-compliant life safety solution. With attention to sequencing, quality, and safety, CFP’s work supports the long-term protection and operational readiness of the facility.
